In what he calls traditional with an edge, Bret Taylor creates timeless designs that fit each client's lifestyle, comfort and personal taste. Each residential or commercial design project utilizes excellent design principles and his keen eye for aesthetics while balancing requirements, budget, and endless details. His passion for design is demonstrated by the joy he experiences in finding unique items and solutions to achieve exquisite, functional spaces.

Bret received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art History and Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Toledo. This foundation in understanding human needs and behavior combined with expertise in aesthetic and physical composition was the perfect preparation for interior design.

Bret opened his namesake firm in 2012. In 2014 he opened the 5140 shop, a full service interior design + curated home furnishings boutique, in Andersonville because he wanted to give everyone access to beautiful objects and good design. The growing design district appealed to him for its small town feel- knowing the other shopkeepers on your street while being in the third largest city in the country.
